The District Council has recently started work on the production of a new Local Development Framework (LDF) for Fenland. The new LDF will provide a framework for growth in the district up to the year 2024. It will set out policies against which planning applications can be assessed, and allocate new sites for housing, employment and other land uses. It will eventually replace the current Fenland District Wide Local Plan (1993), as updated by the Interim Statement of Proposed Changes Supplementary Planning Guidance (2001).
The production of the LDF will take several years, and there will be various opportunities for the public and stakeholders to get involved. Further details of the production stages and the timetable are set out in the Council's Local Development Scheme (LDS). This can be viewed on the Council's website at www.fenland.gov.uk
This document has been produced as part of the Preferred Options consultation stage of the LDF. The consultation period is due to take place from 1 October 2007 and comments should be returned to us by 12 November 2007.
